Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Antoninianus (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.50 g, 12 h), uncertain mint (Londinium?), circa 287-289. IMP CARAV[SIVS P F AVG] Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. [FORTVN]A AVG Draped bust of Fortuna to right, holding branch in her right hand; to left, flower (?); all within wreath. Cohen -, cf. 86 (denarius). RIC 792 and pl. XVIII, 5. Shiel pl. V, 4. Webb 890. An extremely rare and unusual type. Somewhat corroded, otherwise, fine.
